About

Messiah Lutheran Church and community is:

  • a church  with a long history, celebrating, serving and sharing in Oklahoma City since 1955
  • a multi-generational family of Christ followers
  • a place where the Bible is read, taught and followed without compromise
  • a community that realizes how communities are improved through a solid academic and Christian education
  • a place where the priesthood of all believers is taught, encouraged and practiced
  • a church that values intimacy with God in prayer
  • a community that is grace centered and Gospel-centered in Jesus  Christ, our Messiah.
  • seeking to become like Christ each and every day through our discipleship process: GROWING UP, GROWING IN and GROWING OUT.

Messiah Lutheran Church was established in 1955 as a new mission to the “far northwest” parts of Oklahoma City and many of our charter members still attend.  Founding Pastor Fred Schumacher, served at Messiah, even after retirement until his passing in December of 2011.
