Who We Are

Messiah Lutheran Church is:

  • a church  with a long history, celebrating, serving and sharing in Oklahoma City since 1955
  • a multi-generational family of Christ followers
  • a place where the Bible is read, taught and followed without compromise
  • a community that realizes how communities are improved through a solid academic and Christian education
  • a place where the priesthood of all believers is taught, encouraged and practiced
  • a church that values intimacy with God in prayer
  • a community that is grace centered and Gospel-centered in Jesus  Christ, our Messiah

Messiah Lutheran Church was established in 1955 as a new mission to the “far northwest” parts of Oklahoma City and many of our charter members still attend.  Founding Pastor Fred Schumacher, although retired, is still very much a part of Messiah.

To find out more about Messiah Lutheran Church:

We encourage everyone new to Messiah to remain after the late worship service for a brief tour of our facilities given by someone on our staff.  As well, they can answer any questions you have about your visit to Messiah.
