Messiah has a very active High School Ministry. This ministry encourages 9th-12th grade students to grow in their relationship with God and each other through Biblical teaching, relevant events and community building small groups.
Sundays
High schoolers meet together in the high school room at 9:30 a.m. for Bible Study and discussion.
Wednesdays
Wednesday nights during the school year, students get together at T.E.A.M. for Wednesday Night Bible Study. Starting with a family style dinner at 5:30 p.m., the group then moves into some intense, and in-depth study of the word until 7:00 p.m.
SoulFire is our Youth praise team band and SoulFire practices on selected Wednesday evenings. One Sunday per month, SoulFire leads worship at our 9:30 a.m. Contemporary worship service and offers special music at our other worship services. All high schoolers who like to sing, or play an instrument, or even run our computer/sound system are welcome to join in.
Annual Events
OK’D in Christ: District high school youth gathering. Takes place each November either in Oklahoma City or Tulsa. Dates are announced.
Summer Service Project: Each summer a special trip focused on humbling ourselves to serve is planned. Of course, fun events are also a part of the trip. Watch for more information.
Vacation Bible School: Our high school youth play an integral part in making this, Messiah’s largest annual outreach event, possible. VBS takes place the 2nd full week in June.
National Youth Gathering: Every three years, Lutheran youth gather together from all over the United States for a week of fun, worship and service.
