CHILDREN’S MINISTRIES AT MESSIAH
We at Messiah highly prioritize the family unit as the primary source of faith formation, encouraging parents to actively participate in their children’s spiritual development. Parents have the biggest influence on their child’s life, and we want to come alongside our parents and guardians to love, nurture, inspire, lead and equip their children of all ages to be faithful, life-long disciples of Jesus Christ who reach out to those God puts in their life.
Sundays During Worship & Sunday School: Nursery care for infants to preschool is provided by CPR and First Aid trained staff. Parents are also welcome to sit in the nursery with their child and watch the worship service as it is being live-streamed.
Sunday School: Early care and Christian Education for ages 2 years thru preschool is provided in our child care wing on Sundays from 9:30am-10:30am. For our school-age children, we offer Kingdom Kids, which features music, lessons, crafts and more geared specifically for their age range.
Wednesday Family Night: Every Wednesday evening during the school year, our children and families gather for a family-style meal, fun, games, service and learning more about Jesus and church life. Classes are offered for children from Pre-K through 12th Grade. Parents are encouraged to serve and participate in various ways during the evening.
Vacation Bible School:: Like clockwork every summer we offer a week of singing, games, special snacks, activities and more for the children of our Messiah and OKC community. Details about registration, dates and times will be announced in the spring.
Parent Classes: Sundays from 9:30am-10:30am. Bring your kids to spend time with friends and with Jesus, while you get some adult time with other parents who can offer support and understanding of the family life you are invested in. Various pertinent and timely topics are offered throughout the year.
Seasonal Activities: During the year, there will opportunities and events for children and families, including a Fall Festival in October, Christmas Caroling at our local nursing homes, Easter Egg Hunt and Celebration, and more. Dates and times will change each year, but will be advertised well in advance.
