Messiah Children
SUNDAYS
2yr-K : SUNDAY SCHOOL, 9:30am-10:30am. Each and every Sunday, loving teachers will work to instill a knowledge of, and a love for Christ, in fun, age-appropriate ways.
1st-5th Grade: KINGDOM KIDS, 9:30am-10:30am. Every Sunday, our school agers meet with their teachers to learn and grow in their walk of faith. But Kingdom Kids is different. Each month, the kids are scheduled to learn a certain topic, then each week during that month the children break out into small groups to experience their learning hands-on, with a different experience each week. We call it a “rotational method”, but our kids call it FUN. All we know is: it works!
For example, if the topic was Noah’s Ark, then week one, they might complete an art or craft project about Noah, week two they would do some science experiments related to Noah, week three they might play some active games about Noah and in week four, perhaps they would do some computer research on topics related to Noah. The options/combinations are endless.
WEDNESDAYS
1st-12th Grade, T.E.A.M. (Tell Everybody About the Messiah)
Each Wednesday evening during the school year, our school agers, middle schoolers and high schoolers get together to go a little further into their understanding of their faith. The schedule for the evening goes like this:
5:00-5:30 Children/students meet in large age-specific groups for some activities.
5:30-6:00 Everyone — children/students/ teachers/ volunteers — comes together in age-specific groups to eat a hand-prepared dinner family-style.
6:00-7:00 Children/students break out into their grade groups for small-group studies. Our Middle Schoolers (6th-8th Grade) attend Confirmation training during this time. Our High Schoolers meet all together for in-depth Bible Study. All activities are lead by competent, loving volunteers, most of whom are parents of the participating children.
ANNUAL EVENTS
Vacation Bible School happens each summer, usually in June, the 2nd week after the school year is complete. Every year, hundreds of children, both members and non-members alike, participate in this major outreach event.
Other events also happen periodically, like a Christmas luncheon, an Easter Egg Hunt and picnic, and a Fall Hay Ride. Watch this website or the newsletter for more specific information about these and other annual events.
